One of the most common ways to save on auto insurance is knowing what kind of discounts are offered. Some discounts are obvious, while others have to be asked for. Some auto insurance companies are not quick to offer discounts, but have many to be had, if you know what to ask for.

Multiple vehicle discount is the most common auto insurance discount. When you insure two or more vehicles on the same policy, you are eligible for a multiple vehicle discount.

Multi-line discounts apply when you carry several policies with the same company. Safe driver discounts come in effect if you have never had to file a claim due to an accident. You can also be eligible for this discount if you have taken a drivers safety course. Insurance companies love safe drivers and tend to reward them.

Good driver discounts, are not to be confused with safe driver, good driver discounts apply to those who don’t acquire speeding tickets or other types of traffic tickets.

Now that you know a few of the discounts offered, talk with your agent and see what discounts you may be eligible to receive. There may be ever more discounts your company offers so do not be shy about asking. Many of these  discounts all stack on top of one another.
